Telecom Egypt, the first integrated telecommunications operator in Egypt and one of the largest subsea cable operators in the region, has joined forces with NaiTel, a licensed telecommunications service provider in Jordan, and the telecom arm of Aqaba Digital Hub to construct Coral Bridge, a new, long-awaited subsea cable system connecting Egypt and Jordan.

Telecom Egypt, Egypt’s first integrated telecom operator and one of the largest subsea cable operators in the region, and Zain Omantel International (ZOI), the Middle East's premier international wholesale powerhouse with access to more than 20 international subsea cables in the region, are joining forces to establish a unique digital corridor. This corridor will seamlessly connect the Mediterranean Sea to the Arabian Sea and Arabian Gulf, creating an unprecedented Eurasian data highway.
Paratus Group announces that it has now launched the fastest fiber express route from Johannesburg to Europe. Using Infinera FlexILS and GX Series DWDM equipment, latency on the new route is just 123 milliseconds, and the state-of-the-art Infinera equipment can support wavelengths of up to 800Gb. The news comes as Paratus, the pan-African telecommunications group, has just completed its 1 890kms fiber link between Johannesburg, via Botswana, to Swakopmund which connects with the Paratus landed Equiano subsea cable that runs from Namibia to Lisbon and on to London and the rest of Europe.
Bayobab has landed the 45,000km 2Africa subsea cable on Ghanaian shores, in Accra. The 2Africa subsea cable system will support the western and eastern regions of Africa once complete in 2023 and 2024, respectively. This landing is one of several cable landings taking place across 46 locations in 33 countries for all consortium partners, bringing seamless connectivity across continents. This landing is the third landing in a series of Bayobab’s six target locations across five countries.
Bayobab has successfully landed the 45,000 km-long 2Africa cable in Ghana and Nigeria. The 2Africa consortium is developing the largest subsea cable project in the world.
Telecom Egypt, Egypt’s first integrated telecom operator and one of the largest subsea cable operators in the region, and 4iG Plc, the Budapest-based info-communications company in Hungary and the Balkan region, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to link Egypt and Albania via a point-to-point, high-capacity subsea cable.
4iG Plc info-communications company and Telecom Egypt— Egypt’s first integrated telecom operator and one of the largest subsea cable operators in the region— have reached an agreement on the terms of cooperation for the construction of an express subsea cable between Albania and Egypt. Following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) last October, the terms of this cooperation agreement establish a joint venture between the two companies for the intercontinental subsea cable project. The express subsea cable will create a high-capacity, intercontinental connection linking Africa and Asia (through the Red Sea) to Europe, via Egypt, the Mediterranean, and Albania.
