e& Egypt has signed an agreement with the National Company for Telecommunication Services (NCTS), under the Ministry of Defense, to provide advanced telecom services via the "Tiba 1" satellite. The deal was signed by Hossam El-Meadawy, CEO of the institutional sector at e& Egypt, and Samy Shedied, chairman and managing director of NCTS.
NCTS manages the Tiba 1 satellite’s commercial capacity and is the sole company authorized by the National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA) to operate a satellite network within the Ka-band, enabling satellite-based telecom services through the VSAT system.
The agreement allows e& Egypt to offer advanced telecom services, especially in remote areas with limited traditional telecom infrastructure. These services are expected to benefit key sectors like petroleum, mining, and tourism.
e& Egypt has already tested the service to ensure quality and NTRA compliance. The partnership also supports large-scale national projects such as "Mostakbal Masr-Ras El Hekma" by providing telecom services until infrastructure is fully developed.
El-Meadawy expressed pride in the company being the first in Egypt to adopt this technology, which will boost Egypt’s telecom sector.
Established in 2006, e& Egypt is a leading player in telecommunications and IT, with significant growth in the Egyptian market.
